Should I continue this?

Im 18 years old 5'5 and weigh 140. I really wanted to lose weight so I started the south beach diet because I wanted to lose weight but at night I was supper hungry so I just went to bed and I couldn't sleep at all. I woke up feeling very sick. So I quit after the first day and I don't know if I should continue it or try something different?
