Can you help with this query?

My mum has a primary lung lesion near her spinal cord. The doctors are deciding whether or not she is fit for surgery. She has been given the option of a wedge resection, cyberknife surgery or an open thoracotomy. She is in a psychiatric unit being treated for severe depression at present. She has gained weight since her admission. She has had surgery before 13 years ago for a partial lobectomy. She thankfully has had no recurrences of her old cancers and no metastases thank God. I hope they can do something then she can forget about nodules and cancers altogether and concentrate on the depression lifting which is gradually happening since the admission to the psych unit.
